Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie and Eminem are just some of the musical acts who will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year. The announcement came on Wednesday, May 4 and now the respective inductees are reacting to the news.

“The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is the holy grail as far as I’m concerned,” Lionel Richie said. “It humbles me to even think that I’m in the list.”

Richie, Parton and Eminem join Pat Benatar, Duran Duran, The Eurythmics and Carly Smith in the Performers Category. President and CEO Greg Harris called this year’s class “a diverse group of extremely talented individuals and bands who have had a significant impact and influence on rock & roll, the music that connects us all.”

“I’m very excited and pleased that we get to go in together because that is the real story,” said Pat Benatar about her induction alongside her husband and musical partner Neil Gerardo. “It’s just really nice for your children, for the legacy [and] for the fans.”

“I am honored and humbled by the fact that I have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Of course I will accept it gracefully,” Dolly Parton said on Twitter. “I will continue to work hard and try to live up to the honor.”

“We are so honored and thrilled and happy,” Duran Duran said in a video on Twitter. “We want to thank our fans [and] the people that have been voting for us.”

There are also a slew of artists receiving additional accolades. Judas Priest and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis will be receiving awards for Musical Excellence while Elizabeth Cotten and Harry Belafonte will be receiving Early Influence Awards. Allen Grubman, Jimmy Iovine and Sylvia Robison will also receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award.

“We created our own zone,” said Annie Lennox with The Eurythmics. “To get that opportunity to create was what we wanted.”

“I feel full circle in a way,” said Dave Stewart also with the group. “[I] never imagined in a million years that I’d be making music, never mind being in America and being put in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.”

The induction ceremony will be held on Saturday, November 5th in Los Angeles. More information about the ceremony and tickets can be found online.
